9 am to 10 am: Welcome – Anne Brownell and Deborah Crane/Voice and Movement Warm-up
10 am to noon: When the singing class becomes therapy: from Alfred Wolfssohn to Wilhelm Reich – Melanie Harrold.
12 to 1:30 pm: Lunch on your own
1:30 pm to 4 pm: Singing Through the Ancestors: Lullabies and Laments – Angela Attico
4:15 pm to 5:30 pm: Voice Movement Therapy: An Emerging Discipline, discussion moderated by Anne Brownell and Deborah Crane.
7 pm to 10 pm: Dinner together, followed by Five Long Songs, new works performed by Jenni Roditi. An informal sing-around will close the evening.
Saturday, October 23rd

9 am to 11 am: Bridging Worlds: Application of VMT Techniques and Principles with People Experiencing Alzheimers, Dementia, and Other Mental Health Issues – Sarah Povey
11:30 am to 1:30 pm: Stay Present and Improvise: An Experiential Workshop with Performance During Evening Concert – Julia Norton-Lindsay
1:30 pm to 3 pm: Lunch on own
3 pm to 5 pm: Discussion and Demonstration of Techniques Used in the Composition and Performance of Five Long Songs – Jenni Roditi
5 pm to 7 pm: Dinner on own
7 pm to 10 pm: Concert of IAVMT Members (if you have not already signed up, we will try to accommodate you, but it may not be possible due to time limitations.)
Annual Meeting
Provisional and Associate Members may attend, but only Registered Voice Movement Therapy Practitioners (VMTRs) may vote.
Sunday, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm: Annual Meeting. Breakfast will be provided for a small fee. Return travelers to the United Kingdom will leave directly for ferry after meeting.

Per person at terminal $12 (USD) round trip: Take taxi to Tucker Inn or Too Tall House on Massasoit Avenue, Oak Bluffs once you disembark from ferry.
If bringing a car, park on mainland for $8 (USD) a day, free bus takes you to ferry.
Ferry crossing for one auto: $35 (USD) one way/ $70 (USD) round trip, with two passenger tickets included in price.
You MUST get a vehicle reservation for a particular ferry crossing for your car in advance, in both directions. We recommend parking in Woods Hole and taking public transportation or taxi on-island. Car Reservation Line: 508-477-8600. They take credit cards over the phone.
Lodging: Conference attendees who are members of the IAVMT or have been specifically invited may stay at The Tucker Inn or Too Tall House for a flat rate of $150 USD per individual in accommodations of 1 or 2 per room from Tuesday (21
st) through Sunday (24
th) for all or any of those days. These accommodations are across the street from each other and within a 10-15 minute walk of conference, restaurants and grocery store. Contact Anne Brownell at (508) 693-7610 to work out rooming arrangements, then contact William Reagan at (508) 693-7465 to book.
Attendees MUST reserve rooms ahead of time. VMT will NOT book.
Weather: Average temperature 35 to 55 degrees Fahrenheit, with possible highs in 60 and low of freezing. Weather will range from sunny and clear, to windy, to rain, so please plan accordingly and bring an umbrella.
Clothing: It is recommended that you dress in layers and wear loose clothes to move in for the conference sessions. Also, if you do not wish to go barefoot, please bring indoor non-slip shoes suitable for a dance floor. This includes Thursday night get together.
Location of Conference: 179 Circuit Avenue, Oak Bluffs: a large brown shingle frame building directly across from Veira Park.
Cost of Conference: $50 plus meals. Friday night dinner is approximately $30 (USD). Sunday morning breakfast $10 to $15 (USD).
