NEWS BULLETIN: November 2011
A letter from Anne Brownell, MA, LMHC, VMTR
Senior VMT practitioner, teacher and trainer
Dear IAVMT Members, and all those interested in VOICE MOVEMENT THERAPY,
I am pleased to tell you about an event I will be participating in this December as a representative of Voice Movement Therapy and the IAVMT (the International Association for Voice Movement Therapy). I will be doing an interview during a FREE Telesummit on The Mystery of Embodiment, offered by Meridian University, in Pataluma, California, USA, which offers graduate programs in the fields of Psychology, Business, Education and the Arts. I will be a part of a group of over 25 speakers exploring the topic together.
I will let you know the specific time of my interview just a few days prior to the scheduled event, in case you know of anyone who would find joining this event helpful in learning more about our work. Anyone who registers and who cannot make it to all the interviews will have access to listen to them at a later time, but you do need to register prior to the summit to do so. I hope you may find this useful in promoting our work. Please see below for further details from Courtney Lubbell of Meridian University.
Sincerely,
Anne Brownell
Additional information
The Telesummit invites us to inquire into questions such as:
- What does it mean to be embodied?
- Is it simply one’s sense of being in the body?
- Or is it something deeper and more mysterious?
- Is embodiment innate, or is it a transformative practice, in and of itself?
For four days, over 25 pioneers and teachers who have contributed significantly to somatic studies will explore this theme. These teachers will inspire, inform, inquire, learn together, encourage, and help you to deepen your participation into the mystery of embodiment. There is so much exciting and deeply transformative work being done in our field – we felt eager to share this opportunity with you.
So please join us for The Mystery of Embodiment, a FREE four-day event: from December 2-5, 2011.
Speakers will include:
John Amodeo, Charles Asher, William Bento, Dyrian Benz, Anne Brownell, John Conger, Eleanor Criswell, Diana Fosha, Rob Fischer, Siegmar Gerken, Marti Glenn, Susan Griffin, Mingtong Gu, Lisa Herman, Rae Johnson, Stanley Keleman, Edmund Knighton, Mark Metz, Michael Mayer, Thomas Moore, Stephanie Mines, Pat Ogden, Aftab Omer, Meagan Pugh, Laury Rappaport, Babette Rothschild, Francis Spallutto, Ariana Strozzi, Katy Swafford, & Senator John Vasconcellos.
Each day of the summit will feature 6-8 live interviews, including live Q&A at the end of the interview. You can listen to the interviews live by phone or webcast, or you can listen to the recordings which we will make available a few days after the interview.
If you’re a somatic practitioner, a bodyworker or a teacher in somatic studies, have an interest in Yoga, dance, trauma therapies - this Telesummit will be of great interest to you. It will be packed with cutting edge information and practices that will really help you to deepen your professional work. Even if personal growth is your main interest, this Telesummmit will very likely be of value. You’ll learn to become a more embodied individual who can inspire, lead and transform the world around you.
I hope you can join us for these interviews which will include responding to questions at the end of each one – it would be great to have your participation!
Looking forward to the exploration.
From Courtney Lubbell, Events Manager, Meridian University.
