Today was the funeral service for SHEILA BRAGGINS, at Golders Green Crematorium in North London. VMT practitioners attending: Tracy Starreveld, Veronica Phillips, Bernadette O'Brien & Jenni Roditi. An incredibly beautiful, touching and inspiring 'honouring' of Sheila's life and unique being. We discovered after the service, that ALFRED WOLFSOHN was also laid to rest here in Feb 1962 and found his memorial plaque in the gardens.

Christine Isherwood Novermber Intensive Workshop

The human voice is the first instrument, and serves as a bridge between our inner and outer worlds, revealing both our thoughts and emotional states. In this workshop, through breath, movement, sound, exploration and creativity, new aspects of the voice and self will be revealed. Throughout this process individuals will be enabled to expand the parameters of their voices, encounter the body’s and psyche’s narratives and find a greater freedom, allowing singing to become more embodied and increasing expressive and communicative ability.

VMT provides opportunities for exploration of the self and expression of the human condition, providing a forum for emotions to exist and be transformed.

Cost: $1,200

There are some partial scholarships available towards tuition. If you are applying for scholarship assistance, please submit your application to the Norma G. Canner Foundation as soon as you are able. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM (pdf)

Sheila Braggins

Today we received the very sad news that SHEILA BRAGGINS, one of our most treasured honorary members, and a dear friend in voice and spirit, has sadly passed away. A very long-term student and friend of ALFRED WOLFSOHN, the ground-breaking voice teacher-therapist whose work inspired the creation of Voice Movement Therapy, it was always a wonderful treat to hear her tell stories of Wolfsohn & the Voice at our conferences over the years.

We would like to acknowledge the very sad loss of one of our beloved honorary members, Norma Canner, who passed away in February at the age of 93. A pioneer and teacher in the field of Dance Movement Therapy, she also had a great interest in Voice Movement Therapy, acting as both supervisor and guest teacher on Foundation Trainings offered on Martha's Vineyard, in the US. She will be sorely missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known her and worked with her.
