Embodying your whole self

A Voice Movement Therapy Oceania Workshop in Australia

April 12th and 13th 2012
10am till 5pm
Cafe Church Space, 27-37 St John's Rd, Glebe

This two day workshop is an exploration of Voice Movement Therapy (VMT) - a system that enables more voice, passion and joy. Together we will explore new connections to your voice using the vocal and non-vocal components of the VMT system. Connecting through the wisdom of our bodies we will access breath, active imagination and song to journey into our voice.

Bring a song that touches your heart for example a lullaby, folk, popular, jazz, or an original composition. Please wear comfortable clothing and a notebook to write in. Tea and Coffee will be provided but please bring your own snacks and lunch, or enjoy the local cafes.

Trish Watts

Trish is a singer, songwriter, and educator with extensive experience as a performing artist & facilitator in Australia and overseas. A registered VMT practitioner and an accredited Singing Teacher with the NSW Conservatorium. Currently she is an InterPlay Australia teacher and Musical Director for the women's Sydney Threshold Choir. Her passion is to accompany the birth of freedom in all its creative forms!

Sophie Martin

Sophie Martin is an Actor, Singer and Voice Artist and Registered VMT Practitioner. Currently based in Darwin, Sophie has taught Voice and Movement at the University of Wollongong, the University of Southern Queensland, as well as running numerous workshops all over Australia. Her work centres on finding emotional connection and resonance as well as creating flexibility and colour within the voice.
