Embody your song

This experiential weekend workshop will involve group exploration of voice using specific vocal techniques, breathing, movement, imagery and improvisation. The vocal techniques focus on expansion of the vocal tube, grounding the voice in the body, and finding new vocal timbres. We ask participants to bring a song of their choice, which will be explored in a one-to-one session within the group using the three planes of expression. This process helps with embodying the song on all levels and with freeing your voice from inhibitions and tension, bringing you closer to the present moment and your whole voice.

No previous singing experience is necessary. Please bring comfortable clothing.

The nature of the work requires a small group, so places are limited to 6-10

For more information or to book a place, please contact us on norfolkvmt@gmail.com or visit www.norfolkvmt.co.uk.

Monday 16th July 2012
10am to 5pm
Cost:£40
White House, Norwich

In this experiential workshop you will learn some Voice Movement Therapy (VMT) practices for exploring your self. A combination of specific vocal sounds, movement exercises, breathing, imagery, improvisation and song will guide you to release physical tension in your body and to discover ways to embody and expand your voice. Voice Movement Therapy is both therapeutic and creative and the day will include opportunities for play and expression of different parts of the self.

VMT focuses on expression rather than a technique, therefore no singing experience is necessary.
